Employment Listing – Digital Service Squad – Team Member (Digital Marketing Advisor)

Community Futures Central Alberta is currently seeking qualified applicants with digital marketing experience to join our organization as a team member of the Digital Service Squad.  Community Futures Central Alberta is a community driven, non-profit organization staffed by business professionals and guided by a volunteer Board of Directors. We support the growth and innovation of rural Alberta business through the delivery of highly effective business programs, training, loans, and expert business advisory services.

As a Digital Service Squad Team Member, you will work one on one with small businesses across Central Alberta to provide onboarding, advisory, implementation, and resource services to increase their digital presence.  Squad Members will be part of a provincial network of professionals delivering the Digital Economy Program in collaboration with Business Link, Digital Main Street, and Community Futures Central Alberta.  Funding for the Digital Economy Program is provided by the Government of Alberta.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Complete all training and on-boarding requirements of the Digital Economy Program.
  • Conduct pre-business digital assessments to best understand the neighborhood and businesses.
  • Complete on-boarding surveys with business owners to best understand their business goals and how digital tools/technology can assist them in meeting their goals.
  • Guide business owners through the completed Digital Assessment and Recommendations.
  • Assist business owners to identify their priorities and digital tools/technology they want to activate.
  • Activate and implement free, easy-to-use digital tools and technologies that businesses would like to use (i.e.: activating social media accounts, creating an online business profile, etc.)
  • Provide resources (articles, links, how-to-guides) from approved secondary sources related to a particular tool that has been activated, or subject matter of interest to the business owner.
  • Completion of daily, weekly, and quarterly reporting of customer activity.
  • Attend team meetings, webinars, workshops and events as scheduled by Business Link, Digital Main Street, or Community Futures Central Alberta.

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Digital Marketing Certificate/Diploma/Degree, or related experience and/or education.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building/relationship management skills.
  • Previous experience with online and offline marketing is considered a strong asset.
  • Be familiar with digital technologies for small business (e.g.: web, social media, e-commerce, etc.).
  • Be able to use basic software and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), HubSpot CRM, and Slack.
  • Previous experience with online and offline marketing is considered a strong asset.

Additional Details

  • Service delivery will occur both virtually and in person. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License, Insurance, and access to reliable transportation required.
  • Evenings and weekends may be required to accommodate business owner schedules.
  • Must be able to adhere to policies of the Restriction Exemption Program (REP) as outlined by the Government of Alberta.
  • This is a term position with funding guaranteed until March 31, 2023.
  • Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour commensurate with education or experience.
  • Fixed term position ending April 2023.
  • There are 3 FTE positions available. Full time or part time positions will be considered.
