(Red Deer) Back for its sixth season, the Catalyst Incubator, funded through the Central Alberta Innovation Network (CARIN) and provided by Community Futures Central Alberta, is pleased to announce it is seeking participants for both Fall and Winter intakes of its unique, cohort-based program.
The program is designed to help foster new ideas, make critical connections, and help start-up businesses and entrepreneurs in Central Alberta. The Catalyst Incubator focuses on supporting start-ups in manufacturing, agriculture, technology, and energy as they determine how to get their product or service to market.
The program is 100% funded by CARIN through Alberta Innovates and is FREE to attend for all selected entrepreneurs. The Catalyst Incubator program provides 8 weeks of programming and over 50 hours of training, coaching, and mentorship/peer support.
"An incubator can be a huge boost to an entrepreneur with a new idea," said Project Manager, Cathy Forner. "Catalyst Incubator provides coaching, mentorship, and best practices for people who may not know how to move from idea to marketable product or service."
The entrepreneurs selected for Catalyst Incubator will have access to coaches who guide them through the start-up process and keep them focused with weekly tasks, relevant mentors and connections to additional resources. They will gain a better understanding of customer issues and which opportunities to pursue, as well as an understanding of engagement, testing, and feedback. Approved attendees will learn key objectives of how to build a robust and successful company, with both industry-wide and business-specific considerations.
Community Futures Central Alberta General Manager, Kelly Kierluk commented, "We know the Catalyst Incubator program is a valuable tool for our region’s entrepreneurs. We are excited to once again partner with CARIN to create a more prosperous future for our province."
