On May 23, roughly 25 of local entrepreneurs were treated to a great lunch and some great marketing know-how at Setter’s Place in Bower Ponds.
The day marked a celebration of the Digital Service Squad program and was sponsored by Community Futures Central Alberta.
Since 2021, the Digital Service Squad (DSS) program has linked small business owners and start-ups with tech-savvy marketing professionals who provide no-cost 1 on 1 coaching.
The DSS program is part of a larger Digital Economy Program run by Business Link Alberta, and has thus far seen over 300 central Alberta businesses benefit from the training.
The celebration event featured a free lunch from Craddy Shack BBQ along with insightful speakers from Cinch Communications, Small Town Girl Promotions and Community Futures Central Alberta.
Tyler Harke, Community Economic Development Coordinator for Community Futures Central Alberta remarked, “This event is about celebrating the DSS program and the impact it’s had on central Alberta small business. It also provides today’s attendees with no-cost access to some real experts in the digital marketing realm."
Attendees reported that the event was highly informative and the variety of speakers and topics was very useful. The DSS program wraps up in September, 2024. Interested businesses are still able to meet with digital marketing staff by making an appointment with the Community Futures Central Alberta office.
